Michael Jackson Murdered?

By Lisa Angelettie

As the fallout continues after the untimely death of pop icon Michael Jackson, a new question comes out of the Jackson family camp - Was Michael Jackson murdered?

In statements by both Jackson's father, Joe Jackson and his sister LaToya Jackson - they both agree that they believe that Michael Jackson may have been murdered or at least that some foul play was involved.

The motive? Money.

When Joe Jackson was recently interviewed by ABC's Chris Connelly, he alleged that he believes and hopes that the family commissioned autopsy will reveal that foul play had something to do with Michael's death.

While no one really stood to gain financially from Michael's death besides the record companies (his albums have sold 100s of thousands of copies since his death) or his children (their money has been put into a family trust) -- one wonders, what would be the real benefit of murdering so many people's "meal ticket".

In fact, one could argue that the gravy train stopped for Michael's entire camp as soon as he was pronounced dead.

If there was any foul play, it could be that someone was trying to cover up their blundering of Michael's care. Prescribing lethal drugs to a clearly addicted and depressed man. Administering CPR for 20 minutes before an ambulance was called.

Of course - I think that the more accurate picture here is that the two Jacksons that always have something to say and are always looking for their 15 minutes of fame again and again are Jackson's father - Joe and his sister ex-Playboy pinup Latoya Jackson. No other Jackson family member has yet to stand up and say that they believe Michael was murdered.

Also - and I think more importantly, we have to consider Michael. He was a 50 year old man with his own free will. While it seems no one denied him his addiction, no one forced him either to take prescription drugs. It was the decision of a mentally competent man. So unless someone forced an intravenous drip into Michael's vein, I think that it would be reaching to say he was murdered.

Michael Jackson in effect - slowly killed himself.
