How Not To Burn Butter When Cooking In Saute Pan
By Lisa Miller
I like to saute mushrooms and onions as well as a myriad of other vegetables, because it tastes so much better then if you simply steamed them. I like the taste of a little butter too -- but I always had problems with my butter burning while I was heating up the pan. And nothing tastes worse than burnt butter! So here is a trick to use when using butter to cook vegetables, grilled cheese, chicken, anything... Drizzle about two cap fills of olive oil (or another type of oil) in your pan, and then add your pat or stick of butter to the pan. Your butter will melt without burning because of the coating of olive oil in the pan. After your butter melts, add your vegetables etc. or whatever it is you are cooking and you will have a non-burnt, flavorful, meal. |
